After the lapse of sixty years, a collection of documents relating to perhaps the 20th century`s last large-scale ethnographic expedition has resurfaced as a present for those interested in the history of Brazilian sciences and, in particular, the history of anthropology in Brazil. The material relates to the Expedition to the Serra do Norte, undertaken in regions of Mato Grosso between June and December of 1938. It constitutes part of the personal collection of the affection, but who left them unpublished during all these years. He was the `Brazilian` representative on this famous expedition led by Claude Lévi-Strauss.
